The IT-10 is a new rugged PDA
designed and built to be used
for vertical applications in
severe business environments. It
is water-splash proof, dust
proof and can withstand the
inevitable rough handling that
any vertical market device will
suffer. The high specification
means that it has the power and
versatility to meet the future
demands of a wide variety of
industries for many years to
come thus giving the maximum
return on your investment. The
intended uses of the IT-10 in
the enterprise include those for
sales force automation, market
research, retail shop management
and facility maintenance as well

Rugged

The IT-10 has been designed for
maximum durability and it can
withstand a drop from 3.3 feet
(1 meter) onto concrete. It is
also dust and water proof to
level IP54 (International
Standard IEC60529). The internal
components are sealed inside
extremely tough yet light
magnesium inner shielding with
the outer casing made of a
durable plastic resin to give
added protection. The LCD screen
is set in a shock absorbent
rubber mounting to resist the
effects of hard impacts.

The removable, rechargeable
Lithium Ion battery pack has a
capacity of 2,300 mAh which can
provide up to 27 hours of
continuous use (without use of
CF/SDIO card). Advanced battery
power management functions mean
that the IT-10 can easily
deliver a full business day of
use from a single charge. Large
capacity battery pack yet a thin
and flat shape does not
compromise the gripping comfort. |

The IT-10 has a fine 3.7 inch
transflective TFT color LCD
which is capable of displaying
VGA (640 x 480) giving 4 times
the number of pixels as a
conventional QVGA screen. This
makes it ideal for displaying
web based applications which
contain detailed images. The
screen displays conventional
QVGA applications without
modification so you can continue
to use software originally
developed for less technically
advanced PDAs. In addition,
landscape mode is now also
available to allow developers to
design applications for a wider
display. The backlight uses LEDs
to reduce power consumption and
improve the resistance to harsh
impacts. Finally, because the
screen uses a transflective LCD
it provides high visibility in
both indoor and outdoor
environments whatever the
lighting conditions are.

The IT-10 has both a
CompactFlash and SDIO slot
concealed under a robust,
removable cover. Furthermore,
the area around the slots has
been designed to include screw
holes to allow extended covers
to be securely attached. This
means that wireless
communication cards with
antennas can be incorporated.
The CF slot is capable of
supplying up to 1A of current
and built with anti-electrical
noise measure which mean it can
easily cope with specific
demands of wireless
communication cards. The SD slot
supports "SDIO NOW!" so it
cannot only be used for memory
cards but also bar code scanner,
camera and Wireless LAN cards if
necessary. the IT-10 is truly
one of the most versatile rugged
PDAs on the market. |
