The new Trimble Nomad packs even more
functionality into the most powerful and
full-featured rugged handheld computer
available. Start with an 806 MHz processor, 1 GB
of Flash storage, a long-life battery and
integrated wireless capabilities like GPS,
802.11g, and Bluetooth. Then select an optional
integrated laser bar code scanner and color
digital camera. The Nomad also features a
high-resolution, sunlight-visible VGA display
that shows graphics and maps in crisp detail.
And it's fully rugged and just as tough as our
other handhelds which means the Nomad offers a
lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) than
consumer-grade handhelds.
The Nomad makes it easy to collect, save and
transmit data in the field because it's
available with so many built-in capabilities.
Compute your location with the integrated GPS
receiver for navigation applications. Quickly
track your assets with the integrated 1D laser
bar code scanner. Or capture color images with
the 2 megapixel digital camera for inspection,
maintenance and repair applications. Plus, you
can use the Nomad's CompactFlash (CF) and Secure
Digital (SDIO) slots to add even more devices.
Like other Trimble rugged handhelds, the
Nomad meets the rigorous MILSTD-810F military
standard for drops, vibration, humidity,
altitude and extreme temperatures. It also comes
with an IP67 rating. That means the Nomad is
completely sealed against dust, and it can
survive immersion in up to a meter of water for
30 minutes. Trimble rugged handhelds have also
proven their reliability in the field with
thousands of real-world users.
Every Nomad comes with an 806 MHz Marvell
PXA320 XScale processor, 128 MB RAM and a
hot-swappable Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) battery that
can work all day without a recharge. The Nomad
also includes the latest Windows Mobile® 6
software, so it runs all the applications you
use most, including a wide range of third-party
software for industry-specific applications.
